Welcome to the Tecumseh Area Resident’s Association

TARA has been formed in an effort to provide the residents of the Tecumseh area with a guiding body to promote and enhance the quality of residential life. From municipal conflicts, changes, and proposals, to local school representation or newly founded organizations; TARA is there to connect you to our community and represent your best interests as a local voice within the city of Mississauga.

TARA has been a part of your community since it was first incorporated by Letters Patent on the first day of December 1976. The association then expanded their boundaries on March 23, 1982. The boundaries which make up the Tecumseh area within the City of Mississauga, in the Regional Municipality of Peel, are as follows:

  • On the East: by the East limits of the Tecumseh Public School grounds and Madigan's Lane and the projections northerly and southerly thereof respectively.
  • On the South: by the north limits of the lands of the Canadian Nations Railway company; On the North by the South Sheridan Way.
  • On the West by the Tecumseh Creek for the Southerly limit to the Ontario Hydro Right-of Way, thereafter from the west limit of Woodeden Park to Vanier Drive to the South Sheridan Way including residences on both the West and East sides of Vanier Drive.
